Nicole

Nicole Koyan has been a staff member of Turle’s American Gymnastics and Trampoline Academy since it opened in 1992. As a child Nicole was involved in both dance and gymnastics and began competing by the age of 10. Nicole began working at Turle’s coaching recreational classes as a part time job during high school and immediately knew working with children was for her. After graduating high school Nicole continued to work at Turle’s, while she later obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Kent State University in 2000.

After spending five years in the classroom, Nicole has decided to make coaching at Turle’s more than just a part time job. Now employed as Facility Director of Turle’s, Nicole has more time to spend with her young daughter while still being able to work with children in an educational setting.

With 14 years coaching experience, Nicole coaches at almost all skill levels enjoying seeing the progress in her students at each level. Whether her students are mastering a round off back handspring or a backward roll, you will often hear Nicole cheering her students on, proud of each child’s individual achievements. Nicole’s light and energetic workout style has led many students to love the sport of gymnastics and continue on to the competitive team.

Lizette Simon was born and raised in The Netherlands. She moved to the United States in 1992 with her husband Jeff, whom she met in The Netherlands while he was stationed there. Lizette, Jeff, and their children, Tori (10) and Caleb (6), have lived in Twinsburg since 1999.

Growing up loving the sport of gymnastics, Lizette started taking
recreational classes at a young age. At the age of 11, she started to
participate at the competitive level. Later on, Lizette became a coach and
was also an active FIG certified judge for 5 years. During this time,
Lizette was able to learn much about the importance of technique, precision and form in gymnastics competition.

Lizette joined the Turle’s staff in 2005. She will primarily be working with
the Intermediate Optional and Team Program. As a mom of two, Lizette has a gift at connecting with all her students on a personal level and finding the
best ways for each of her students to excel. She is committed to bringing
out only the best in all and truly enjoys being in the gym coaching and
